Description
This is the front left tension strut for the 2014=2018 F15 X5 35d/35i/50i and F16 X6 35i/50i models. The upper control arm is also known as the tension strut or thrust arm and is the forward-most control arm on the X5/X6 chassis. The arm uses firmer rubber bushings and oversized ball joints with low-friction materials to improve handling, sharpen steering feel, and prolong the service life of control arms and bushings.
Worn original X5/X6 rubber bushings cause steering vibration, imprecise steering feel, and sloppy handling. To restore steering precision and crisp handling, replace the X5/X6 control arm bushings at the first sign of wear. The Meyle HD bushing is a more solid rubber design that reduces deflection without giving up ride comfort. If you ever felt the original BMW ride and handling was too soft, the Meyle HD spec bushing will be a positive change.
