Description
Autocross-specific brake pad compound for BMW E28 M5, E24 M6
Carbotech AX6 Performance Brake Pads are some of the highest performing specialized brake pads in the world, coming directly from Carbotech’s research and manufacturing plant in Concord, NC, the racing headquarters of the USA.
Carbotech Performance Brakes utilize compounds that are rotor friendly, eliminating the grabbing and locking up that keeps so many drivers and race cars from performing at their peak. You want to go deep to gain precious fractions of a second before you need to brake, and Carbotech brakes let you do just that – in every element, of every autocross run.
Carbotech AX6 replaces the well-regarded Panther Plus compound that was so successful. AX6 is engineered specifically for autocross applications.
+ High-torque brake compound delivering reliable and consistent performance over a very wide operating temperature range (150 °F to 1250 °F +)
+ Advanced compound matrix provides excellent initial bite
+ High coefficient of friction with very progressive brake modulation and release characteristics
+ High fade resistance
+ Rotor friendly at all temperatures
+ Excellent cold stopping power
+ Non-corrosive dust
+ Excellent choice for autocross, novice track day drivers, and beginner high-performance driver education (HPDE) drivers on street driven cars using street tires – eliminating the need to change brake pads at the track
Carbotech AX6 performance pads have gained tremendous popularity for their fantastic bite, and predictable release and modulation.
Many drivers use the AX6 for street driving as well, although Carbotech doesn’t recommend street driving with AX6 due to the potentially elevated levels of dust and noise. As a competition pad, there is no slot for the pad sensor and you will have to delete the sensor and monitor pad wear visually.
NOTE: AX6 is NOT a race compound, and should not be used as such. AX6 shouldn’t be used by any intermediate or advanced track day drivers, and should not be used with R-compound tires (racing tires).
